Senior Project/Product Manager

Blue Lava Technologies is looking for a talented project / product manager. You need to be really smart, web-savvy, and have a technical background (preferably some sort of history as a programmer). In exchange we’ll provide you with lots of smart people to work with in a fun and highly-caffeinated environment. Oh, and we’re based in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii. So it’s pretty warm here. Good thing we have AC.

Interested? Here's what we're looking for:

• You’ll be the senior project manager for both our desktop and web based products
• You'll be responsible for managing both products and correlating new feature requests to a schedule which you'll be in charge of maintaining
• You'll work closely with a team of engineers establishing deadlines and deliverables for everyone's work
• Your primary responsibility will be to gather and establish all details on our platform, keep track of everyone's work, and make sure everything gets done on time

We think you'll be good at this job if you have the following:

• 3+ years experience managing web and/or desktop software projects/products
• Experience guiding the development of highly intuitive user interfaces
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Programming background highly desired (preferably lots of experience working on Linux based environments)
• Bachelor's degree required (preferably technical)
• Be living in or be willing to move to Hawaii (we'll provide relo)

Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

Blue Lava is looking for a lead QA Engineer to work on testing, breaking, understanding, and improving our website at iLovePhotos.com and our Mac OS desktop application. We have a fun, hard-working environment and you'll be working on one of the coolest photo management products around with some of the smartest people around.

We think you'll be good at this job if you have the following:

• Familiarity with Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows
• Native Mac user strongly preferred
• Familiarity with virtual machines (Parallels, VMWare, VirtualPC, Xen)
• Familiarity with bug tracking software such as Trac or Bugzilla
• Scripting language experience (python, perl, shell, or equivalent)
• Desire to track down issues and find problems with software under test
• Ability to describe the exact scenario in which the bug occurred
• Very organized and highly motivated
• Good communication skills and ability to present/explain bugs to developers on team
• Strong desire to learn new technologies including Django, Python, Cocoa
• Ability to take ownership of the QA platform including daily builds, and automatic test suite, fully realized in script
• At least 5 years experience with QA

Senior Cocoa Engineer

Blue Lava is looking for a highly talented Mac OS Senior Software Engineer to join our technology team in the architecture and implementation of our core products and services. You'll be developing in Cocoa and working on our Mac OS X desktop application. We have a fun, hard-working environment and you'll be working on one of the coolest photo management products around with some of the smartest people around.

We think you'll be good at this job if you have the following:

• 8+ years of systems-level Unix/Linux development experience
• Proven track record of strong coding and individual accomplishments
• Extensive experience developing desktop applications
• Solid Understanding of video compression and image processing technologies
• Competency in distributed systems
• Extensive experience programming in Cocoa, Objective C, C/C++, with strong OO skills
• Python experience a plus
• P2P experience a plus
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols and database design
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
